Young Birders Club Takes Flight at SoFo
For young birders, the South Fork Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton now has a new Young Birders Club. The club, for those 8 to 18, will meet on the third Saturday of each month at various locations around the South Fork; participants do not need to make every meeting.
Those who take part will have an opportunity to learn such skills as how to identify different species and how to attract birds with various calls. No prior experience is necessary. Participants have been asked to bring binoculars and a field guide to birds of the Eastern United States.
Miles Todaro, the environmental educator, Mr. Quevedo, and Barbara Blaisdell, an experienced birder, will lead the group. The club will meet at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. Advanced registration is required.
