Plenty to Do Outside in Montauk

On Saturday at 2 p.m. a Montauk State Park naturalist will lead a guided three-mile hike to see shorebirds and seals. Hikers will meet at the lighthouse concession stand 10 minutes before the start of the hike. Warm clothing and binoculars have been suggested. The cost is $4 per person. There is no charge for children under 3. Space is limited and reservations are required at 631-668-5000.

The East Hampton Trails Preservation Society will lead a 6.5-mile ramble from Rod’s Valley going northwest and connecting with the Paumanok Path and then westward along the bluffs overlooking Fort Pond Bay and Napeague Bay on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. The meeting place is the Edward V. Ecker County Park, at the west end of Navy Road. Laurie DeVito will lead the hike and can be called at 631-813-6988 for more information. The hike is free and open to the public.
