New Summer Music Series Comes to Hayground Every Wednesday
This summer, the Hayground School's camp is hosting a new summer music series of weekly concerts on Wednesday nights. Each week, a new musical guest will spend a day with the campers, and then perform for the public.
The concerts will feature a variety of musical genres. This week's musical guest is Damn Tall Buildings, a folk group that has released three albums. Blaquestone, a hip-hop duo, will perform on July 25, followed by Morley Singer, a pop-rock singer-songwriter, on Aug. 7. Finally, the Underground Horns, a brass-jazz band, will play on Aug. 25.
The Underground Horns will also take the stage on Aug. 26 at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, where admission will be $20 at the door.
Admission to the summer music series is free for all Hayground School students, campers, and families. A $20 donation, which will go toward Hayground's musical programming, is requested from all others.
The concerts will be held on the Hayground School campus on Mitchell Lane in Bridgehampton. The concerts will be outside, but will be moved indoors if it rains. There are a few bleachers for concertgoers to sit on, or, if desired, picnic blankets and chairs can be brought from home. Naturally, attendees are encouraged to stand up and dance throughout the concerts.
