East Hampton Library Budget Vote Coming Up Next Weekend
In advance of a Sept. 15 vote, the East Hampton Library will present its 2019 budget to the public Thursday afternoon at 3.
If approved, the spending plan would authorize an additional $36,000, an average of $2.34 per household, to property tax bills in the East Hampton, Wainscott, and Springs School Districts. The library’s budget would rise by almost $170,000, with the difference coming from donations and investments. The largest increase, about $146,000, would go to staff salaries and benefits, with an additional $30,000 for lectures, classes, activities for children, and other programs. Administrative and facilities costs would drop slightly.
Voting will take place at the library from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
