Choir! Choir! Choir! at Guild Hall Friday
Learn to sing in one night. That is more or less what the difficult-to-pin-down act Choir! Choir! Choir!, which is both a vocal duo and massive audience participation event, will bring to Guild Hall in performance at 8 p.m. on Friday.
Choir! Choir! Choir! was started as a weekly drop-in singing session at a Toronto bar in 2011 by Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman. At Friday’s program, the audience will be given lyric sheets to the late Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at the door, DaBu (a combination of Daveed and Nobu) will teach the vocal arrangements, and the event will be recorded on video. Tickets are $25 to $45, $23 to $43 for members.
Among Choir! Choir! Choir!'s greatest hits are a rendition of Justin Bieber's "Sorry," Toto's "Africa," the "Game of Thrones" theme, and a chorus of more than 500 people who performed David Bowie's "Space Oddity" in a sing-along after his death.
