Big Weekend Ahead at St. Therese in Montauk
Prayers for peace and for the country will be offered at the annual Rosary Rally on Saturday at noon at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Montauk.
The event marks Our Lady of Fatima’s 101st anniversary of the miracle of the sun.
Weather permitting, the rally will happen outside on the grounds of St. Therese’s parish center. It will move inside if the weather is bad.
A CROP (Christian Rural Overseas Program) hunger walk to raise money to fight hunger locally and globally will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. from the St. Therese parish center. Those wishing to participate have been asked to gather pledges for a donation. Sponsor sheets can be picked up at the parish center, the Montauk Community Church, or by calling Pat Cidlowski at 631-668-5664.
The approximately three-mile walk will loop around Fort Pond. It is co-sponsored by the Montauk Community Church and St. Therese.
The St. Therese Nursery School has a few Cherub Chance tickets left to sell before the drawing on Sunday.
Just 400 tickets will be sold to support the nursery school program, with tickets costing $100 each. First prize is $10,000, second $1,500, and third is $500. The winning ticket will be drawn at a cocktail party at the Harvest restaurant from 2 to 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the parish center or by calling 631-668-2200.
