Observances for Christmas Eve and Day

East Hampton

Christmas Eve Masses at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in East Hampton will be at 5 and 9 p.m., the latter in Spanish. On Christmas Day, there will be an 11:30 a.m. Mass and one in Spanish that afternoon at 4. New Year’s Eve Masses will be celebrated at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and at 4 p.m. in Spanish, and on New Year’s Day at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. in Spanish.

A longest-night vespers service will be held at the East Hampton Presbyterian Church tonight at 7. On Christmas Eve, there will be a 10 a.m. Lord’s Day celebration and a children and families service at 5 p.m. At 8 p.m. there will be a traditional Christmas Eve service for all ages.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on James Lane in East Hampton will hold a family service at 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, followed at 10:30 by a candlelight service of lessons and carols with the Holy Eucharist. On Christmas morning there will be a service at 10.


A Christmas Eve service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Chapel on Old Stone Highway in Springs.


A Christmas Eve service will be held at 5 p.m. at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Amgansett.

Also on Sunday, a candlelight service is set for 7 p.m. at the Amagansett Presbyterian Church.

Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Main Street, Amagansett at 9 a.m. on Christmas Day.


Christmas Eve will be observed with a 5:30 p.m. service at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Bridgehampton. On Christmas Day there will be 8 and 10 a.m. services and one at 11:30 a.m. in Spanish.

At St. Ann’s Episcopal Church on Main Street in Bridgehampton, a family Christmas Eve service will start at 4:30 p.m. That night, a choral prelude begins at 10, with a First Eucharist of Christmas observance at 10:30. On Christmas morning, a short spoken service will begin at 10. It will include a reflection on the legend of the poinsettia.


Sag Harbor

Christmas Eve Masses at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sag Harbor will be celebrated at 4, 5:30, and 10 p.m. On Christmas Day, Masses will be said at 8:30, 10, and 11:30 a.m. There will be a New Year’s Eve Mass at 5 p.m.

At Sag Harbor's Christ Episcopal Church, a family service with Eucharist will start at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Worship at 11 that night will be preceded by the singing of carols at 10:30. On Christmas morning, a quiet service will be held at 9.


Masses at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton will be celebrated on Christmas Eve at 4, 6, and 8 p.m. — and at midnight by candlelight.

On Christmas Day, Masses will be said at 8, 9:30, and 11 a.m., and at 12:30 p.m. in Spanish.

At the Southampton Presbyterian Church, candlelight services will be held at 5:30 and 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Water Mill
Grace Presbyterian Church at Scuttlehole Road and Montauk Highway will have a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m.
