Class on Opioid Overdose Prevention
Suffolk County will host an opioid overdose prevention class at the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreation Center on Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m., with instruction on how to use intranasal naloxone, commonly known by the brand name Narcan. The training meets New York State Department of Health requirements, and participants will receive a certificate of completion and an emergency resuscitation kit that includes intranasal naloxone.
Legislator Bridget Fleming is sponsoring the class in conjunction with County Executive Steve Bellone, the recreation center, Hugs Inc., the Southampton Town Police Department, the Suffolk County Department of Health Services, the Suffolk County sheriff’s office, and the Thomas’ Hope Foundation.
