Parent Portal Back Up, Officials Advise Parents to Fill Out Forms

The East Hampton School District's Parent Portal, which contains teacher assignments, schedules, and other information, is once again up and running.

Access was restored on Friday after being down for about a week and a half. The system had been taken offline after staff experienced problems in recent weeks transferring data from its old online information system to its new one. Robert Tymann, East Hampton's assistant superintendent, explained during the Aug. 18 school board meeting that the data entry then had to be done from scratch.

According to an email blast sent by the administration earlier this week, parents were told they would receive email instructions for setting up their accounts by Thursday.

The administration, however, said it could send emails only to parents who have provided a valid, verified email address. To do that, the school district is advising parents to complete the "emergency contact form," which is located on the district website at
